Due to COVID, parents are not allowed inside the building for drop-off or pick-up. When waiting outside, we request parents wear masks.
Traffic along Adams and Monroe streets is extremely congested during drop-off and pick-up. Whitney Young and the Chicago Police Training Division are our neighbors and have similar schedules. Following these guidelines can help ease traffic and keep everyone safe:
Drive slowly and come to a full and complete stop at all stop signs. We want to keep our Superstars and their familiessafe while crossing the streets!
Obey the crossing guards (and give them a smile, please!).They are here to help traffic flow.
Remind students to look both ways before crossing any street.
DO NOT block the bus lanes. You will be asked to move.
DO NOT double park. This may be difficult, but double parking narrows the streets, blocks other parents in, and causes even more traffic back-up.
DO NOT block parking lot driveways at either building. These lots are for teachers and staff.
We recommend walking or taking public transportation to drop-off and pick-up. If this is not possible, consider parking further away from the school buildings and walking over to pick-up your students.
