2nd Annual Spooky Skinner Ball Is This Friday, Oct. 27th!

Skinner Superstars from grades K-6 are invited to the Spooky Skinner Ball on Friday, October 27, 4-6 pm, in the Cafeteria and Gym. Admission and enjoying music, games, crazy hair styling by Snippets, and Halloween crafts is free for students accompanied by parents. A $10 ticket gives access to face painting, photo booth, and cookie decorating. Your kids won't want to miss the Costume Contest and Classroom Door Decoration Contest awards at 5pm

There's Still Time to Volunteer for the Spooky Skinner Ball
You can help make the Spooky Skinner Ball a success by volunteering to purchase supplies or help with games and activities at the event on October 27. Sign up HERE

Spooky Skinner Door Decorating Contest
Teachers, parents and students are encouraged to work together to decorate their classroom doors by Friday, October 27. (Creative freedom is allowed, but please be mindful of age-appropriate content and our diverse community.) Principal Clark and Mrs. Robinson will choose winners in 3 categories and award prizes at the Spooky Skinner Ball at 5 pm. In addition to bragging rights, the winning classrooms will get a special treat!

Hispanic Heritage Celebration: Nov. 10th

The Hispanic Heritage Celebration will be held on Friday, November 10th.

Congratulations to SW Alumni (Class of 2014)!

A few Skinner West Alumni from the Class of 2014 reunited at the Chicago Scholars on site luncheon at Navy Pier.  Our Alumni Scholars interviewed with up to six universities each.

They each received at least one on the spot admission decision each!

Classroom Connection: Kindergarten Fire Safety

October is Fire Safety month!

All four Kindergarten classes gathered this week at Little Skinner for our annual visit from Fireman Mike Reyes.  Mr. Reyes is a Chicago Firefighter and also a Skinner parent of two superstars! Kindergartners look forward to his fire safety speech every year!

Congratulations to SW Alumni: Walter Burnett!

We are so proud of all our Skinner West Alumni and want to acknowledge Walter Burnett (Class of 2010), who is currently a Senior at Fordham University in New York.

Walter has been recognized by Forbes magazine as a Forbes Under 30 Scholar at their "Under 30 Summit".  

Congratulations to Walter on this tremendous honor from Forbes!

In addition to Walter's academic success, he is committed to serving the community by volunteer teaching at two New York elementary schools, one in Harlem and the other in the Bronx.
