The Facing Freedom exhibition explores how Americans have defined freedom through workers’ rights, armed conflict, public protest, race, and citizenship.

Using the website, students explore the four main themes of the exhibition, by discovering more about the eight moments from American history that are presented. Students can read more about the theme, people involved, and examine objects from the collection using the zoom and features.

Students can also create their own collection using the My Freedom Collection feature. This feature allows students to make a title for their collection, choose objects related to it, and describe their collection. Each student is assigned a unique URL that can be shared with a parent or facilitator.
