It's the Spirit that Counts!

For Students

Educational Resources Guide, by Grade, for Students and Parents

In January, our Local School Council approved to adopt the Achieve 3000 reading program for 18 months by picking up a portion of the cost and having parents pay a portion. As a result, we are asking parents to pay $25.00 for access to the program from February to August. We will include the cost for next year's access within the 2013-2014 school fees. Click here to view the parent letter detailing the benefits of Achieve 3000, how you can submit payment for the program, and what our next steps are.

Facing Freedom
The Facing Freedom exhibition at the Chicago History Museum explores how Americans have defined freedom through workers’ rights, armed conflict, public protest, race, and citizenship.
http://facingfreedom.org/

  • Using the website students explore the four main themes of the exhibition, by discovering more about the eight moments from American history that are presented. Students can read more about the theme, people involved, and examine objects from the collection using the zoom and features.
  • Students can also create their own collection using the My Freedom Collection feature. This feature allows students to make a title for their collection, choose objects related to it, and describe their collection. Each student is assigned a unique URL that can be shared with a parent or facilitator.
