SIP Committee

The School Improvement Planning Committee (SIP Committee) is established by the Local School Council (LSC) to carry out the ongoing work and responsibilities required by the Continuous Improvement Work Plan (CIWP). The CIWP is a two year stream-lined, strategic planning process for schools required under state and federal laws. The SIP Committee reports to the LSC and makes recommendations regarding CIWP issues that the LSC is required to rule upon.

  • The SIP Committee works with the Principal, the LSC, the PPLC, school staff, parents and the community to develop and monitor the two-year stream-lined, strategic planning process for schools CIWP.

  • The Committee takes input from parents, staff, residents and representatives of the entire school community in an open public meeting and develops a proposed CIWP through a consensus based decision-making process.

  • The Committee presents the proposed CIWP to the Local School Council for a vote of approval.

  • The SIP Committee holds open public meetings, at least twice a year, of parents, staff, community residents and representatives to review the progress of the CIWP and consider any new developments that impact the CIWP.

  • The SIP Committee makes recommendations to the LSC regarding any and all changes or revisions that become necessary.

  • The Committee reports to the LSC on the status of the implementation of the CIWP.

Meeting Dates

The regular scheduled SIP Committee Meetings will be held approximately once a month. Meeting times alternate between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM to accommodate the differing schedules of parents, teachers, and neighborhood residents.
