Pizza Kit Fundraiser Forms DuePizza
This week, ask your family, friends, and neighbors to order their Little Caesars Pizza Kits! These kits include everything needed to make gourmet pizza at home in fewer than 10 minutes. Keep them in the freezer to have on hand for quick dinners and Super Bowl entertaining.
Skinner West PTO is asking every student to sell 10 kits to help us reach our fundraising goal, and we offer these incentives to students:
  • Sell $50, receive a purple slip
  • Sell $100, receive an entry into a drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card
  • Sell $120, student's name will go on the school marquee
  • Top-selling classroom will win a pizza party
Money raised goes toward one of Skinner's favorite annual performances: Saakumu Dance Troupe of Ghana.
Order forms and payment must be turned in by Friday, January 12.
Pick up your pizza kits on Tuesday, January 23rd in the school lobby when you pick up your students. Please plan to pick up your pizza kits as soon as possible, as there is a 5-hour window to freeze the kits.

KDG Reindeer Party
This week kindergartners got together for a "Reindeer Pajama Party!"  The children gathered at Little Skinner and rotated to several classrooms for reindeer games, crafts, stories, and fun! It was a great opportunity for the children to intermingle and a great way to kick off the holiday season!

Classroom Connection - Mrs. Rosenzweig's 5th Grade (#220)
Students in Mrs. Rosenzweig's 5th Grade classroom were transformed into sleuths, uncovering the mystery of a multi-million-dollar fortune's death in the novel, "The Westing Game."  Through group discussions and activities, students used the novel study to learn new vocabulary, make inferences, question, connect and observe.  Additionally, figurative language and theme were highlighted.  Students obtained the roles of the sixteen main characters in this novel and were paired accordingly to uncover clues, ironic statements and to find red herrings along the way. Case detective files and a suspect report were submitted as a final assignment.  Would you like to play the role of a detective?  Ask a 5th grader in Room 220 for their answer!

CTA Holiday Bus Visits Skinner
Our 4th grade Superstars were chosen to make the art for this year's CTA Holiday Bus! The bus was parked at Skinner West on Monday where the kids got a chance to see their art class creations, take Polaroids with Santa and were given holiday treats. Thank you CTA for letting us be a part of this fun holiday tradition! Keep your eye out for the bus in action around the city."
