During the second week of November, upper grade student-candidates campaigned and gave their prepared speeches in a school assembly. Students in grades 4-8 voted for their class representatives and for the Student Council executive board. Class representatives were announced in individual homerooms.  Congratulations to all students who ran for office!  The votes were counted and here are the results for the Student Council executive board:

President                    Nia L.
Vice President            Sophia R.
Secretary                    Tia H.
Treasurer                    Chris C.
Historian                     Ruthie Z.

Many thanks to Mr. Johnson and Mr. Fitzsimmons for coordinating the election and serving as advisors to Student Council.

The first Student Council meeting for all student representatives will be after-school on Wednesday, November 30th from 3:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. in Mr. Fitzsimmons' classroom, room 323.

Classroom Connections - Ms. O'Brien's Classroom

On Tuesday, Ms. O'Brien hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner for her classroom. Students practiced life skills by making their own name cards, placemats, setting the table, reading a menu, and selecting foods to try. Finally, the class sat together to share a meal consisting of all the traditional Thanksgiving foods. Several room parents came to share with the class and also helped organize a birthday celebration for Ms. O'Brien at dessert.  It was a wonderful experience for all who attended!
